FeedBurnerVNU Business Media Europe Partners with FeedBurner to Implement Feed Monetization Services in the European Market

Building on its history of innovation, VNU is first-to-market with RSS advertising powered by the world's leading feed management company

London, England – July 19, 2005 – VNU Business Media Europe, a leading global information and media company, announces a partnership with FeedBurner, the market-leading feed management and monetization provider. This relationship will provide VNU with a variety of revenue-generating RSS-related services for its publishing platforms.

"The evolution of RSS has opened new doors for both publishers and marketers," said Dominique Busso, Chief Executive Officer of VNU Net. "With FeedBurner, we are staying ahead of the curve and anticipating advertiser needs, responding in new and creative ways. We've been impressed with the company's expertise in RSS and their consult to help us determine which monetization strategies will work best for our various entities."

Feed monetization is a relatively new phenomenon, but early adopters are already reaping the benefits. Nokia Enterprise Solutions, a division of telecommunications giant Nokia, has supplemented its marketing mix with sponsored RSS advertisements placed by FeedBurner in several VNU feeds.

"Beyond the standard statistics, publicity and feed optimization services we provide, publishers are requesting support for a variety of monetization strategies, including feed advertising," said Steve Olechowski, FeedBurner's Chief Operating Officer. "Our proprietary algorithms for managing the complexities unique to RSS and RSS advertising ensure FeedBurner's service will consistently deliver superior results," he continued. "In the same spirit with which we have always supported publishers, we are thrilled to be able to provide VNU's vast network with services to help maximize content distribution and revenue opportunities in this new medium."

As marketers continue to look for news ways to optimize reach and targeting efficiency, RSS provides a superior means of communicating regularly with a measurable and growing subscriber base.
