Webloggers, verwijder je Webstats4U (NedStat Basic)-tellers!!!
Op Marketingfacts lees ik zojuist sommige websites plotseling pop-upadvertenties zijn gaan vertonen. De pop-ups zijn van Adpepper en komen door de gratis teller van Webstats4U. Gebruikers van Webstats4U (voorheen NedStat Basic) zijn verrast, verbaasd en geirriteerd en ik dus ook.Ik gebruik ook reclame-uitingen op mijn website, maar daar wil ik wel zelf de controle overhebben (en zeker geen pop-ups!). Ik heb daarom de gratis teller van Webstats4U direct verwijderd!
En daarom ook de oproep aan alle webloggers: verwijder de Webstat4U-teller!!!
Er zijn veel betere alternatieven zoals:

Thank you very much for your comments on the Basic Counter of former Nedstat.
I would like to clear a few questions up:
Nedstat Basic/westats4u is the most used free statistic tool in the world - and probably allso the most respected and accepted. We believe in keeping this service free of charge - even if the costs of bandwidth, development and maintenance are extreemly high.
But to keep it a free tool we have choosen to send out one advertisement per week per visitor on the website.... THis has been communicated on our website and in emails to all the webmasters. Some webmasters might have given us a wrong emailadress or they might have changed it and therefore not recieved any mails from us. But everybody have been notified well in advance. We hope to make sure that webstats4U - a product from Holland - will stay the best, most respected and the biggest fress tool in the world

Verder ik geloof niet dat jullie e-mails naar alle (600.000) webmasters hebben gestuurd. Mijn gegevens waren (ik heb m'n account gisteren verwijderd) correct en ik heb geen e-mail ontvangen. Blijkbaar zijn er meer "webmasters" die geen e-mail hebben ontvangen, anders was er nooit zoveel ophef ontstaan.

Het geheel gaat al als een sneeuwbaleffect rollen.
Heb maar ook wat mensen op de hoogte gesteld van de aktie (de gehele korfbalcommunity).
Zelf wacht ik het nog eventjes af om te kijken of webstats4u wellicht nog terugkomt van het idee.
Ik zag de korfballers vanochtend al in de referrers :-)
Ik heb niet het gevoel dat Webstats4U erop terugkomt en ik denk dat het daar al te laat voor is.
De zoveelste stap ravijnwaarts ...

Be aware of FREE Counter at Webstats4U
delete the counter because of unwanted POP UPS
Ook ik heb vandaag de counter van webstats verwijderd vanwege de hinderlijke pop-ups, waar zelfs reclame voor pornosites op zaten.
Tevens heb ik al mijn contactpersonen een email hierover gestuurd en een regionaal dagblad via een C.C. op de hoogte gebracht.
Een e-mail ontvangen van de heren reclamemakers? NEE, NEE, NEE, dus.
In de kleine lettertjes van hen staat: When you use these free services, you agree to allow WMS to display advertising, including third party advertising, through the Products and Services.
With the installation of Webstats4U on the site it is accepted that WMS has the right to place advertisements on the site in any format or through any channel, including but not limited to e-mail, layer ads, pops, banners and other usual formats without any forewarning and it is furthermore accepted that WMS takes no responsibility for the advertising content and that WMS shall not be liable for any losses incurred regarding this advertising.
With the installation of Webstats4U on the site it is accepted that WMS has the right to use the collected data for commercial purposes in line with WMS's privacy policy.
Nou ja. Ik zal er in ieder geval voor zorgen, dat de praktijken van Motigo (webstats, webstats4U etc.) overal rondgestrooid gaan worden.
